Mexican Brunch, our 9.2% Imperial Milk Porter, is back for all to enjoy.Mexican Brunch is brewed with a blend of English, crystal, chocolate, and roast malts and milk sugar for extra body. Mexican Brunch was conditioned on a curated selection of cacao nibs from Ecuador and Ghana, coffee from our friends at Rook, maple, and a light mixture of Chile spice and Cinnamon for added complexity. Mexican Brunch is a full-bodied Imperial Porter that pours a dark mocha with notes of traditional milk chocolate, coffee roast and subtle highlights of Chile and Cinnamon spice that makes this beer truly unique.

Draught at CBC Boston, 9/23/17.
Seemingly opaque, ebony with dark mahogany edges and a tan head that quickly recedes to ring.
Light lactic character opens up the nose with mild, fruity coffee, big caramel-chocolate notes and some bready, specialty malt-meets-cacao nib character. Not overwhelming, despite its strength and adjunct profile. A bit of sharpness on the very end, but tough to tell if it's cinnamon, chili or alcohol. Not messy and not too muddled, which is tough to achieve here. That said, there's a bit too much earth, bread, spice; almost as if the nose is too "dry". Though the coffee and light caramel does help things, somewhat.
Initial sweet milk chocolate impressions fade to crunchy specialty malt, cacao and drying cinnamon as the chili adds heat and the body rapidly thins out showing very nice attenuation. No syrup or fudge/cake here. Maybe a bit too much cinnamon, but all told, this is pretty restrained for all the crap they've dumped in it. Certainly a far cry from the messy, sweet, jumbled Bomb! Low alcohol apparency, soft coffee and vanilla lingering with light chocolate-caramel, as well. Really like the relative dryness here.

Bottle shared at kermis' birthday. Black with light brown head. Cinnamon, chocolate, soft roast, a touch of smoke, coffee, a hint of chili but not sure if I'd get it if I didn't know it was there. Cocoa, hmmmm more chocolate, soft milkshake. Medium sweet and bitter with a hint of tartness. Over medium bodied with slick feel and light thin feel. Very nice.

Bottle with thanks to Vin! Pours clear mahogany, small beige head, dissipates slowly, good lacing. Aroma is mocha, cinnamon, cocoa, licorice, vanilla. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, lots of cinnamon with a hint of pepper and a touch of ash along with the mocha. Medium body. Pretty darn good.

4 oz. draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Boston, 23 September, 17. Aroma is cinnamon, huge coffee, roasted malt, black pepper, vanilla. The flavor reminds me of Mexican cake just with coffee added. Coffee lingers. The Ancho pepper and cinnamon is not over done. Alcohol is not found with abundant flavor!
