Nancy is a tart ale that brings local cherries together with Brettanomyces yeast. The beer is brewed onto a blend of Maine-grown Balaton and Montmorrency cherries. It ferments for over a year in a stainless steel tank with the cherries and Brettanomyces. Copper in color, Nancy’s flavor is a medley of citrus, cherry, and pie spice, with a hint of graham cracker. The finish is dry and refreshingly tart.

375 mL bottle from Beer Run, opened to celebrate my 10 year anniversary on Ratebeer! Hazy pink-orange, large fizzy tan head, decent retention. Aroma of brett, funk, pepper, jammy cherries. The taste is vanilla, brett, funk, tart cherries, cherry pie filling. Medium bodied, high carbonation. Nice. Mild lingering tartness.

@Ulfborg Scooper. Clear amber, fizzy white head. Sour aroma, cherries and mild acetone. Flavour adds a litttle smooth spice. Still with a good sour bite. Nice.

375mL cork and caged bottle shared by beerbeggar. Amber reddish color, clear at first but murkier as the bottle goes. Musky rotten fruit and Swedish fish. Flavor is tart and green berry skins, acetic. Souring and cheek puckering sour punch at the end. Kind of uneven sourness. Not sure if its trying to be a Flemish Red or more American Sour, meaning classic or modern. Don’t really get cherry either. I’m often hesitant to pay such a high price tag and this reinforces that practice.

Bottle - Sweet and tart cherry with some funky wild notes. Cloudy pinkish gold with a nice white head. Tart and acidic up front with some candy and cherry notes. Nice finish and acidity isn’t dominating although it is quite big to start.
