Gott!

Alias Rekolan Ruukin Terva. Muutoin oikein mainio tapaus. 3.10.2014: No hemmetti. 33->35

On tap at Suuret oluet - pienet panimot 2016, Helsinki. Black with a beige head. Roasty aroma with wooden notes, licorice, tar and hints of bonfire and smoke. Surprisingly flavourful and we’ll balanced. Certainly a tasty porter! --- Beer merged from original tick of Tervahauta Porter on 28 Jul 2016 at 13:21 - Score: 6

Sampled bottled @ Fête de la Bière Finlandaise. Porter with tar(!) according to the deScription. Pours black only a few mocha bubbles. Nose is very heavy on molasses & very thick herbal licorice, sooth, light ashes, overly sticky, herbal & molasses-like. Taste is watery with burned ashes, burned wood, charcoal, burned herbal licorices, burned ashes, sooth & molasses. Very weak & watery body. The combination of being watery with all these heavily burned notes, herbal notes etc. really doesn’t cut it for me. Could have potentially worked with a thick body but not as it is now.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Very dark brown, lively gushing head. Tarry licorice aroma. Dryish with light-medium body and spritzy mouthfeel. Tar, coffee and milk. Somewhat metallic and sharp. Coffeeish bitter finish.

Smell of tar, smoke. Absolutely massive mid-brown head, black colour. Aroma of tar, candy, some metal, coffee, some herb. Surprisingly watery texture, long ashy finish. A not so working mix of flavours. Mostly bitter with some sweetness involved.

A colablack beer with a huge and light brown head. The nose is strongly roasted, dry smoke, chalk and hint of salt liquirice. The strong flavours even the alc. % is this low. Taste of liquirice, smoke, some chalk, roasted coffee. After the aroma the taste is too short and light. Light bodied, too much of carbonation. Not very convincing, the appearance and aroma promises a lot, but after that too light at every way, unfortunately. Smoked and roasted, light porter.
