The inaugural beer of The Hop Concept brand, this IPA boasts aromas of citrus and dank, resinous pine. As the flavor opens, huge notes of stonefruit and dank resin give way to a malty backbone and drying hop bitterness on the finish.

A golden, a head is quite big and blond. Aroma has tropical fruits, mangos, pineapples, some papaiyas and fructose. Taste has strong pine needles, some tropical fruits and grapefruits, strong bitterness, dry. The end is piney with resin. The bitterness is even tickling in the throat. Medium bodied, quite smooth. Dry, tropical notes and now the bitterness is totally enough, the great beer.

Towering fine yellow-cream head, very stable & lacey, over veiled amber-orange beer. Nose full of exotic and other fruit (passion, peach, lychee,...) and also simply hoppy. Some pale malts too, greenmalt, grassy. Pure lupulin and hopoils, bitter, wry, sticky. Bit of ureum, unripe fruit, pine needles, resin. This is drinking diluted hopoils, wow. Sticky, viscous liquid, slightly burning MF. Don’t look for balance, here. Again not one for the fainthearted. Hopheads, rejoice.

Bottle, 22oz, at Sandar. It’s a lightly hazy one, golden in color and with a dense two-finger off-white head. It’s very piney on the nose, resiny and tropical, grapefruit and some malts. Some warmth on the palate, it’s full bodied and soft, quite dry. Grapefruit, pine cones, citrus peel and some malty sweetness in the flavor, as well as a nice bitterness. Lasting hop dominated finish. Pretty wonderful this one. 150531

Bigger tasting at Ronny’s flat, Copenhagen. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Light semi sweet malts. Trace of dry cream. Hop spice, marmalade, tropical fruits. Light smooth finish with orange peel and mango lingering on. Very nice.

22oz bomber pours with a hopped up murky mess of a deep gold body that supports a thin dirty white head. The look of this speaks in the language of hops and nothing else. Love it. The aroma tosses up nice thick sticky pine hops and then it grows quickly into malt sweetened spicy dank onion like goodness. It seems the thickness somehow muffles the hop aroma. The taste is surprisingly smooth and supple as malt sweetened pine and spicy onion hops descend onto a helpless yet time tested palate. The body takes on a thick chewiness that allows for a depth that has no bottom. This is right where it needs to be in body and appearance but it seems the hops and malts didn’t come together to their full potential to take this from terrific to mind blowing.
