Bottle shared by Chris on 10/15/16.
Deep "groovy" brown body has auburn-mahogany highlights and a quickly receding, off-white head. High clarity.
The acetic acid is strong in this one. Lots of cherry, raspberry, strawberry-like esters with light balsamic character and a vanilla-caramel maltiness that is seemingly fairly well-attenuated. Pretty aggressive, with some light alcohol heat/vapors and not much going on other than an assault of sour acids and light wood.
Very sour in the mouth with cherry-like notes, strong wood and lingering heavy acetic acid. Oaky, caramel-laden notes intensify the beer, as well, and it’s lightly boozey with too much sweetness on the end as well. Peppery carbonation and a slick texture. Well, if you love acetic acid....

bomber from AFH, foamed quite a bit. dark brown appearance. Looks great with a 2 finger dark white-ish head. Smells very oaky, tannic, raspberry, blueberry and peach. Very light tartness, funk that starts and ends around the middle leaving a cherry pie flavor. i think I’ve enjoyed every vintage of these. Reminds me of Melange 11 but on the lighter side.

Cellared in my cellar since purchase. Small slow gusher upon opening.Black in color liquid. The aroma is very acidic with sour grapes and funky Oak. The flavor is dominant and funky oak, mild red grape, acidic aftertaste. Finn and body without any character. To be fair I don’t really like the style at all .... I purchased this on a whim.

Saturday night bottle share. Bottle thanks to Rick. Lively bottle foamed up on opening, and didn’t settle down for a while, but it was still good. Tart and funky as the name implies.

Thanks! 650 ml. bottle sampled @ “Tim’s Christmas Tasting”. Black, quickly gone mocha bubbles. Barrels are all bourbon & rye whiskey and yet the nose is huge wine, very vinous, tart, light sour mocha, sourer oak. Taste is puckering blackberries, very vinous, dough, sour berries, more wine, light oak, red grapes, light funk. Body is touch watery, overall quite a nice Oud Bruin (taste-wise) not sure what this is exactly but not bad to drink, not exceptional but nice for sure.

22oz bottle pours a murky brown with lots of frothy, beige head. Nose has raisin, prune, lots of cooked greens, some soured coffee, plenty of lactic acid. Flavor is tart with vinegar, prunes, cherries, wood pulp, some tobacco, soured cola. Medium bodied, tart finish.

7th September 2015
Mild gusher. Almost opaque dark brown beer, big pale tan head. Palate is airy with mild fine carbonation. Mild sourness interesects with the bourbon and rye and produces a tangy coca cola thing. Something like mild cinnamon. Light finish. It’s not entirely unpleasant but a blend of barrel aged beers that want to be a sour/red brown was always going to be a little messy.
