Our India-style Export Stout is a unique collaboration with award-winning homebrewer Alex Tweet. Released in limited quantities, this explosion of South Asian flavors is reason enough to kneel down and thank the heavens. It’s further proof of San Diego’s status as a brewer’s playground, and a beer lover’s utopia.

Dark pour from Valhalla. Light small head. Cocunuts and curry smell and dominate the taste with the cayenne coming on. Fascinating beer but probably best in small doses

Bottled. Black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma s lemon, cinnamon, some peppery and curry. Flavour is spices, some toffee and mild tea leafs, some slight peppery tones too. Still actually somewhat nicely in balance.

Tap at Thrash Zone. Spicy, curry powder, thats about it. Seems wrong but I quite like it. Little burn at the end. Some sweet roastiness, bit of milky caramel. Definitely interesting but might struggle with a pint.

Poured from the tap. Black with tan head. Aroma of fragrant creamy curry and mild roast malt. Taste has light vanilla and coconut with some lime and curry, finishes with a slight cayenne kick. Extremely unique, very well done. Despite it being a bit of a novelty, it is still very drinkable. My only criticism comes from the cayenne finish, it doesn't quite match the spicyness that you would find in a good curry so feels a little more like an add on then a complete blend.

$8.99 bomber, Rio Hill Wine. Pours deep brown with a tan head. Aroma is... whoa, this is what you get when you don't read the bottle. Aroma is curry, cumin, Thai spices (I suppose Indian spices), coconut milk, chocolate. Damn, I want some Thai or Indian food right now, or both. Flavor is coconut milk, curry, cayenne pepper, chocolate, cumin. Some back end heat. This is interesting. Way to be different!

bottle. very dark brown, pours brown, no head. aroma is exactly like an indian hot dish, lentils or something, tons of cumin and chilies, very special. flavor is cumin, hot chilies, very hot in fact, rice, spices, indian spices, chamomile, this is totally crazy, tastes a lot more like food than beer.

Bottled 650ml. -from Beergium. Pitch black coloured, small to medium sized brown head, pure curry in the nose. Roasted malt, heavy curry madras (not so big fan of that kind of curry), chocolate and spicy with notes of alcohol and vanilla. Nice and interesting try but softer curry would be best here.
