Mocha Machine is a well-engineered endeavor in massive aromatics and rich flavors. Brewed with an array British and German malts, this burly brew is infused with masterfully roasted coffee from Portola Coffee Lab in Costa Mesa, CA. It is then aged on cacao nibs from Ecuador, adding an awesomely deep dimension of fudge.

GABF 2014. Pours a black appearance with a dark brown head. Quite roasty. Plenty of dark chocolate, moderate coffee, earth, and a hint of smoke. Lots of flavor. Great beer.

Keg at Beachwood, Long Beach, 17/04/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown/light black with a moderate tan covering that retains as a large lake and edgeing. Nose carries a big mocha blast, roasted malt, chocolate. Taste comprises coffee cake icing, sweet licks, cocoa powder, vanilla essence, roast malt, coffee bean. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid coffee fuelled porter.

Enjoyed on tap as part of a sampler at Beachwood BBQ in Long Beach, CA. This was my favorite out of the sampler. Intense aromatic coffee and mocha notes with a dry light bitter finish. Definite rich chocolate fudge notes in the flavor. Great stuff.

Tap at the brewery. Pours with a black hued body and a tan head. Aromas are huge, nutty and fudgy coffee, toasted malt, roasty, munich like malt notes, very clean yeast. Lots of coffee. Flavors are a touch thin, big coffee, medium bitter and some noticeable acidity. Nutty. A touch thin, fuller carbonation, well hidden alcohol rich chocolate finish.
