Bottle from Erzengel - Cheers! 🍺 Creamy white head left a spotty cover on a pale golden still body. Malt, cardboard & dull fruit aroma. Medium bodied, sparkling on the front with a thicker back & sticky aft. Quinine, medicinal, syrup, pale malt, berry, spicy & lightly hopped tastes with a peppery finish. I like this!

Bottle from Gabriel/Erzengel. Cheers! Yeasty biscuit and cardboard aroma. Light gold. Creamy frothy head thins out after a while. Light-medium bitter with a biscuity edge, which gives way to sour edged sweetness into the finish. Gains spice and quinine... and latterly, citrus and marmalade and booze. Medium bodied. Slick. But verging on chewy. Average carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. At first I was not overly impressed, albeit it didn't have the sweetness I dislike. However it then seemed to develop more character as the fruit and booze made their mark.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple, nice format. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts strong, malty, spicy, some herbal notes as well. Shy hoppy background. Finish well balanced, a bit boring malty. But quite drinkable for a bock!

Unusual 0,5 l bottle from Erzengel. Thanks a lot! Clear dark golden, one finger white head. Smells like a Kellerbier, caramel with apples. Taste has also with the caramel apple mix but also alcoholic bitterness. Not bad for a Heller Bock.

Bottle of their normal Bockbier, vom Brauerei-Heimdienst. Nice smooth aromatic beginning. Caramel, spices, smooth malty parts. The beer is moderate bitter and very smooth, slightly sweetish with creamy biscuit-parts. Nice grainy and slightly sweetish ending with spices and biscuits. Very interesting.

Screw-cap bottle (excavated by Stefan!): Golden, small and stable white head; moderate sweet bisquity nose, some grains detectable, mild hops and faint traces of alcohol underneath; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; short sweet finish, balanced by a mild hoppiness. Good, but not overwhelming......

(bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Clear, pale golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Sweet pale malty aroma with grainy notes, biscuits and a touch of alcohol. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Biscuity malty taste with grainy spots and a tinge of herbal hops towards the sweet-bitter and slightly alcoholic finish. Like the souped-up Weihnachts Gold, but not necessarily better. 19.I.11
