Full Nelson pours a bright copper blonde which is accompanied by an attractive white head, which is both compact and lasting. From the word go, the aroma positively screams Nelson Sauvin hops, with their gooseberry, raisin, citrus and tropical fruit aroma. This is echoed in the taste, with the addition of a pleasant bitterness. Don’t do things by half, get the Full Nelson!

Bottle. Gold with a loose white head. Grassy Kiwi sauv blanc aroma, gooseberries, grass clippings, grapes, lychees.Slight cat. Lowish carbonation, a bit on the thin side. Hops don’t pop as much in the mouth, although it’s pretty grapey. Sweet hay. Dry, moderately bitter finish.

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer with a dense, off-white head of moderate size. The aroma has flowers and grapefruit, with some sweetish maltyness notes. Something almost smoked too, not sure what that is, but it suits the beer. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, it’s full to medium bodied and with a pleasant carbonation level. Tropical fruits and some malt notes. Lasting finish. Well, not bad, but I’m not impressed. 140301

Dull tan colour off the keg. Lychee nose of kiwi hops, the fizz is a shock but the taste is pure kiwi goodness, all pale malts, lychees and lime.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy light amber with a long-lasting frothy white head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is tropical fruit hop yeast. The flavour is medium bitter with a dry spice pepper hop palate and a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
