Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Bottle Shop, Druid Street. Pours deep brown, mostly clear, with a creamy beige head. The nose gives off some well roasted malts, burnt grains, earth. Light sweet flavor with hard, ashy roast, baking cocoa, scorched earth, touches of espresso. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Bitter finish, lots more hard-edged roasted malts, bitter ash, bittersweet baking cocoa. mild alcohol warmth. A pretty solid, workingman’s porter.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras drunk at home. a bit of bovril on the aroma. Quite hoppy for a porter. Some chocolate later. Over carbonated doesn’t help with this carbonic bite. Odd porter. Hmmm. A little soy sauce and carbonic acid. The least impressive of the Cloudwater?s beers I’ve had.

Opaque black - brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Mellow but tangy dark malts, a trace of dry cream. Medium floral bitterness in the mid. Bitterish dark chocolate. Surprising candy fruits on the back end, some ripe fruit too. Light semi dry finish. Brings more interest than yer average porter.
