Almost no head; veiled pinkish red, flamingo coloured beer. Floral and berries’ nose, raspberry specific but not excluively. Very inviting, though suggesting serious sourness. Acidic, fruity flavours. Again predominantly raspberry (even when those aren’t there at all). Finish has some lemon, lactic acid. Very thinnish MF, but inherently also very refreshing, vif; lipsmacking acidity. Outstandingly ideosyncratic.

Bouteille 50cl, BB 19/2020, lot# ANT.

Keg at BBF 7, Bodegraven, 26/09/15. Clear crimson / pinkish with no head. Nose is funky, damp straw, pissy lemon rind, red berry tarte. Taste comprises wood must, funky red berry snap, Brett pangs, faded cherry skins. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light acidic tone. Decent funky saison.

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2015. Day 1. Deep amber with no head. Nose is oily sweet berries with a puckering aspect following them, oak, sour, sour bacteria. Taste is puckering sour, vinegar, oak barrel, berries, grape, berries, puckering… Low carbonation, puckering. A very nice sour but not a saison. If I had to guess, I would guess that Wild West is the base.

At Borefts, apparently made for, but not entirely limited to that occasion. Practically no head apart for some loose bubbles, absolutely ravishing salmon pink colour with a hazy ’soul’ and shades of orange and peach. Intensely fruity nose, raspberry-like but I guess that is the combination of bramble- with blueberries, yellow plum, lemon zest, hay, flowers; quite strong fruity tartness, even a little bit lemony and puckering at first, supple mouthfeel with soft carbonation, bready maltiness underlying a tart, drying finish laden with fresh forest fruits and mild wild yeast effects. Very appetizing, an excellent artisanal fruit beer.
