7.2/10 β€” Appearance 8 Aroma 8 Flavor 6 Texture 8 Overall 7
Aroma is rather coffee forward with some light chocolate and malt notes. Light acidity and citrus in the background. Coffee is peppery with a light nuttiness and light cherry. Pours a darkish brown with some light red hues and a moderately sized, fairly thick, tan head that recedes fairly quickly. Flavor is fairly acidic and instead of enhancing the good parts of the coffee seems to enhance the astringency. Some moderate cherry notes with light malt and chocolate character. Medium light bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, I really like the aroma but the flavor didn’t really do it for me. It reminded me of cold, overly acidic and astringent coffee.

CR 2014 Bottle. Enjoyed @ 45F in stemware split 2 ways.

A - Dark plum red with cherry and burgundy. No head, some sediment.

S - Coffee, Chocolate and vinegar are the most dominating aspects with some sort of coriander or herbal spice.

T - Very sour and dominates all of the adjuncts. I get some coffee and creamy sugar up front and a touch of that at the finish. Sour just overwhelms and detracts from everything else.

M - Thin oily mouthfeel, very little carbonation

O - Just not a fan of this one. Too many adjuncts for what is a very sour beer.
