Slightly hazy red to purple color, medium head. Aroma of sweet artificial fruit, blackcurrant, some marzipan. Sweet taste like most of the mort subite beers, and to this one they added a bunch of blackcurrant esters.

A very lively beer, that blew the top of when opened. The color is a hazy red amber with a light brown huge head. The aroma is surprisingly sour - very nice - with clear notes of black currant, but also lemon. The flavor is sweet from the black currant, but on a quite sour, very fresh background, other notes is of lemon, grapefruit, and hints of wood.

Bottle – Pourred a deep purple/amber brew with a nice bubbly head. Great carbonation with good head retention. Aroma of cassis is very present. Taste is very sweet and cassis are easily identifiable. Very easy to drink, a bit likes juice. Acidic and tarter aftertaste no very much present for a lambic. Overall, a very enjoyable beer but probably not as complex as some other fruit lambic can be.

Reddish amber, huge light pink head.Great blackcurrent nose.Slightly vinegary huge fruity flavor that seems both sweet and tart at different times lingers on the palate.

Red color; pink head. Cassis candies aroma. Dryer, more sour, less sweet (therefore less cloying) than the Lindemans'.

Dark red colour, white head. Sweet cassis aroma. (what a surprise) It is not bad but it tastes more like some kind of soda than like beer.

Pale amber mixed with pink; pale pinkish foam, good head, lacy. Horrible artificial fruit-like smell. Another toilet deodorant. Terrible aroma gets its prolonging in the taste. It is however less unpleasant, thanks to a certain tartness – and a general ‘fade’ flavour. It remains awful, however. Mouthfeel is the best; tartness, dry-out effect, OK. Once the toilet cleaner aroma is gone, the beer becomes tolerable. I will never buy this again – compared to this the Lindemans cassis is a treat.

Bottled. Clear red. Winegum aroma. Very sweet, big black currant sorbet flavour. Tasty, at least if judged as an alco-pop.

Is it just me or are Mort Subite's fruit beers underrated. They're not Girardin, but I think with the moderately assertive tartness they make a much better introduction to lambic than certain more popular, but much sweeter examples.
