Fine clear brown pour and a nice frothy off white head Moderate intensity in the aroma. Some alcohol Decent sweetness and a fine carbonation level Malty, mild fruity, herbal and a bit to much alcohol in the flavor [Can from Geir]

Starkbilligbier aus dem LIDL, what could possibly go wrong? Optisch schonmal nix, stabiler Schaum. In der Nase dann die erste Klatsche, fürchterlich künstlich, aber ist ja auch Halloween. Im Trunk glasierte Schnapspralinen, ebenfalls aus dem LIDL, mit schön Zuckergelé drauf. Ekelhaft künstlich, dann der Alkohol, Halleluja. Aaaaber, nicht das Schlimmste was ich je getrunken hab :D

Can from a Lidl in Berlin. Deep gold in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Syrupy malts, a hint of fruity sweetness and plenty of raw alcohol. A fairly typical strong, industrial, lager. Once was enough.

Lys gul klar med hvitt skum. Lukter korn, gjær og noe metall. Middels fylde. Smaker lys karamell, korn, gjær og metall. Middels lang.

Helles Bockbier. Aus 16,3 % Stammwürze werden sehr respektable 7,9 % Alkohol geholt. Würde ich in der Kategorie „Maibock“ einordnen. Hell, strahlend goldene Farbe. Fruchtig, hopfiger Geruch. Man schmeckt den hohen Alkoholgehalt, Frucht (Birne, Quitte). Auch der Hopfen (Sorte Herkules) hat seine Rolle. Neben deutlich bitteren, liefert er auch leicht florale Nuancen. Durchaus schmackhaft und erstaunlich süffig für ein Bockbier. Etwas zu süffig. Könnte geschmacksintensiver sein. Nur die bittere Note schafft es über den Mittelteil hinaus (leicht pfeffrig im letzten Viertel). Alles andere verschwindet erschreckend schnell im Nirwana. Hab die 0,5-Liter-Dose für nur 49 Cent bei Lidl gekauft. Das ist schon extrem günstig für einen Bock und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis bei diesem Bier ist wirklich OK. Allerdings darf ich bei dem Preis natürlich auch keine Großtaten der deutschen Braukunst erwarten.

0,5 l can. Clear golden wiht a nearly three finger head in the glass. Grainy metallic on the nose. Taste is more malty with caramel sweetness, little bit fruity. Low carbonated, low malty bitterness. Alcoholic to the end. No real pleasure.

Can 50 cl. Pours a clear golden with a lacing, white head. Nose is a little stressed, as if the booze is forcefully hidden. Medium body only, malty, sulphurous, kinda astringent botterness with the booze kinda well hidden. No big joy here, but you sure get some booze hardly without noticing it. 091020

50cl can at home (2 X 2020), as Perlenbacher Strong 7.9%. "Brewed according to the German purity law". Pale golden coloured vivid brew with a firm snowwhite and frothy collar on top. There are sweet bread grains, some corn, walnuts, perhaps some stone fruit hints and faint banana leaves in the nose. Although this is a discounter brew, I did not notice lots of alcoholic tastless booziness in this one. The mouthfeel has a medium carbonation with ginger, restrained malts, sweets and soft bitter character. Too sugar-ish really. One can notice some lemon grass in here as well. The finish is short, but it has a sweetish and not unpleasant ending.
