We first brewed this beast to honor the Pine Box boys and their iconic Seattle beer nirvana. We liked it too much to let it go away, so The First Nail returns. An oatmeal stout of epic proportions with brewer’s licorice, smoked barley and aged on cinnamon bark. The Nail pounds your palate, challenges your perception of all that you’ve known of beer and leaves you wanting ... another sip. "A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it’s better to be thouroughly sure" -VWP.

Bardzo dziwna ta paleta. Ta wedzonka taka dymna nie wedzonkowa i nieprzegieta, do tego wisnie kandyzowane, lukrecja, sporo czekoladowych nutek, melasa, pumpernikel... gldziutki i dosc pelny. Ciekawostka, bardzo fajna ciekawostka. Po otwarciu sie oscypkowo

Bottle thanks to Brandon. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast, licorice, cinnamon, oak. Thick body, wood, cinnamon, vanilla, licorice, boozy finish, very nice.

A bottle on Black Christmas 2016 at 12 Kings. Pours an almost black with a dark brown head. Aroma is spices, cinnamon. Taste is pretty the same with additional roasted malt notes. Really good, but I would prefer fewer spices.

Bottle at Liquid On tap at the source in Seattle-USA. Bottle. Black pour, minimal brownish foam. Nose: vanilla, Christmas spiced cookies, roast blast. Mouth: super sweet sugary roast, vanilla, did I say it is sweet? :-) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Catch up rating from last night. First in a line of many imperial stouts. Color and pour normal, silky smooth body, up front ABV and following burn. Body right on for an oatmeal stout.

Boise Imperial Stout Tasting. One of my first beers of the night and easily one of the best... Dark brown color, small tan head. Mild aroma of roast, cocoa, and light spice. Rich flavor is roasty and sweet, nicely complimented by the cinnamon and licorice. Really nice beer.

Lots of candied malt and some roast. Pours black with OK hear and lacing. Almost a fruity aroma in a sense. Some roast. Finish is quite sweet. Tap at meridian pint.
