Sampled draft as @ Tilquin English Beer Festival 2015. Pale lemon, little white. Nose is bergamot big time, black tea & some yeast. Taste is bergamot, lightly sweet, touch sugar, yeast, bergamot & some black tea dominate, light lemon,… Light, yeasty body,… Expected something more like Lipton Ice Tea,… this isn’t bad, a bit bland maybe but not bad at all. I do like Earl Grey / Bergamot.

330ml bottle [3.7% abv as per label]. Cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with huge, thick, frothy to creamy, more than fairly lasting and lacing, snow white head. Soapy, spicy, citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, sage, Ice Tea is not implausible. Taste is herbal spicy, citrusy, lemon, sage, cilantro. Works somehow like the optical illusion of reversible figures (cf. Duck Rabbit Brewery for an example on familiar beer territory) converted into flavour ambiguities: we can have an unpleasant, defective, extremely soapy perception, I tend to see the wild, yeasty-spicy, experimental side. Postscript: Gentrified either way.

Appearance is golden, fairly cloudy, a one finger pure white head which gradually settles, quite a bit of sediment. Aroma- wheat, lemon hints, yeast, cream, hint of apple. Taste- apples, rhubarb hints, tart fruit, lemons, ice tea, refreshing, short finish. Interesting.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of lime sherbet, bitter lemon and peppery rocket. Flavour of green tea, lime, ginger beer and sparkling water. Thin body with a watery texture. Light fizz. I’m not getting much tea flavour, but this is a nice, refreshing Saison.
