Bottle from Drinks of the World. Pours brown with a big head and a medium retention. Aroma is resin, pine, forest floor, very low citrus. Body is medium and predominantly bitter with not much else. Some resin again, dried dark fruit, lively carbonation, but not much of a malt backbone. Palate is bitter and sweetish. Way too extreme and unbalanced.

Can. Amber color with good foam. Very hoppy taste and aroma, very resinous, a lot of pine needles, good hop bitterness, fruity.

At a tasting, thanks, no head, hazy deep orange to red color, fruity aroma with some biscuit in the back, biscuit and caramel flavor, quite sweet and not bitter enough. Not well made.

Can sample at a tasting at Alexey’s place. Thanks troubles. Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of mild fruity and piney hops, malt, and a bit of alcohol. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, mild bitter piney hops, and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied. Not enough hops.

“That rug really tied the room together.” “They peed on my f*cking rug!” 330 ml. can @ home. BBF 14/08/2015. Pours a big glass of off-white / light beige / white head. Eventually revealing a very dark amber, ruby hued beer. Pours bitter very thick pine resin, strong herbal flourish, herbal caramel, light toffee,… Taste is bitter pine resin, fruity grapefruit, grapefruit peel mixed with light toffee, caramel, pine resin is very thick, almost chewy, faint syrupy sweetness, herbal bitterness, touch dark honey,… This one has a nice chewy quality to it & nice balance with thicker malts. Resinous, sap like body. I quite liked this one but … “Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.”

Barbiere, Bern tap: Pours amber with a white head. Aroma is sugar and fruitiness. Taste is kind of sweet with some aftertaste. Not particularly bitter or hoppy in an American sense. Some earthiness. This was underwhelming as either a Double or normal IPA.

330mL bottle, courtesy of fiulijn (thanks Alex), pours a deep dark amber / mahogany with a small off-white head. Nose brings out light resinous hops and some caramel - pretty light aromatics. Flavour is well-balanced between resinous hops and toffee-like sweet malt. I thought it would be too sweet based on the colour, but it's actually quite nice. More of a strong ale than a double IPA, but whatever it is, it's nice.

Can @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. A bit odd reddish color with small yeast particles floating in it, medium sized off-white to beige head that leaves good lacing. Don’t get anything else than malts due to a cold. Taste malts, some hops, a little sweet and frankly a disappointing Double IPA. No, not very good.

Can @ benzai. Clear darl amber colour with a small to medium sized beige head. Smells plastic, hops, slightly grassy, industrial resin stuff used to male solid object from multiple layers of fibreglass. Tastes bitter, hops, slightly plastic, slightly roasty. Pretty nice, way better than Kurt but still a little weird. Medium body, soft to medium carbo.
