The amount of new saison’s in Belgium has been crazy this year, it used to be quite a rare style. In the Netherlands it also seems like every brewer is making a saison these days. Personally I feel like most of these fall a bit short & a lot of them are just mediocre Belgian style beers. Anyway,… Small GUSHER. Huge head collapses instantly, misty golden, lightly sparkling. Nose is insanely bizarre, like spoiled soap & lavender, chemical lemon, liquid washing soap,… Yikes, what spices did they put in here? Taste is odd & unpleasant, huge spoiled soap, powdery rotting lemon, rotting lavender, tad sour milk, big esters, very esters, flower, lingering washing powder aftertaste, rotting ginger, spoiled soap,… Sparkling, lightly boozy, coats the mouth in almost powdery way,… I really didn’t like this one,… A catastrophe of spices. Too much of everything, booze, esters, those awful spices,… Not for me. Very unpleasant.
