Keg at the hanging bat. Pours opaque dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of brett, sherbet, light roast. Taste is more sherbet. Dry finish. But too much brett for me.

On tap at the brewery. Black beer. Chocolate darkish. Some brett. Lot of manure. Shitty chocolate. Wow. Time to open up. Wow. Quite surprising.

Draft sample @ ACBF 2015.

Draught Textbook yellow lace over fully opaque brown beer. Smoked, tobacco(ash), chocolate. Chocolate returning with vanilla, strawberry, tasting sweet-roasted. Quite well-bodied, very slick-oily, long roasted aftertaste. Nice! The brett influence remains quite restrained, which is good here.

Sampled @ ACBF 2015. Dark brown, blackish, little mocha. Nose is mix of mocha, lightly funky vinegar, dark cherry,… Taste is rotting dark cherries, fermaing, chocolate, mocha, fizzy, lightly tart,… Very fizzy,… Odd mix that doesn’t fully work, almost tastes like a beer that is off. Odd to find something sour in a beer that I thought was only brett. Agreeable still. (Thanks for sharing people!!!)

Dark brown appearance. quite dark but vert short of black. 1 finger head that fades fast. sort of coffee colored. Licorice and tobacco aroma, faint chocolate, barley is pronounced. Minimal roasted qualities. Whoa, but the taste is great. You get a piney bitterness, brett funk, some wine like notes that pair right up against a well crated porter. Maybe a bit too sweet but it’s a nice beer.
