It’s time to bring some Belgian inspired beer to the hipster hub of East London and beyond. This is unlike no other beer that you would have tasted by a British brewery. An individual within its class…a standout. So very Shoreditch. A fantastic beer for those looking to expand their beer palate. If you are partial to white wine this could be the beer for you. Pairs great with seafood dishes, cheese boards and a nice bit of crusty bread…we like grabbing a few of these for a day spent on the picnic blanket!

On tap at Gist, Brussels. Hazy golden, lasting off-white head. Estery, banana, honey, hay. Drinkable. Kinda lot of esters, banana, dry peppery. Herbal touch. Light to a medium body. Slightly metallic. Good.

Bottle at Mad Bishop & Bear, Paddington Station. Pours slightly hazy pale golden with a thick, dense white head. On the nose it's quite Belgian even though it's a Londoner: cookies, spearmint, cardamom, lemon, rye bread... Mouth is dry, with perfect carbonation (soft but noticeable); good sourness, metal and bitterness (which is a lot), and even a salty refreshing tinge. Long citrusy finish to round a very nice ale.

33cl bottle. Poured a hazy light straw colour with a big frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light grassy hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a watery mineral, yeasty, light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

Pale blond with light haze. Aroma and flavour are quite dominated by the yeast which adds a sweet element. Also light malts and straw.

330ml bottle: BBD 4th Nov 17. Drank at home on 1st Jul 17 during a random tasting session with myself. Pale blonde pour, white head. A bit bland and uninteresting to be honest. Wasn’t expecting a Lager either. Floral, grass like aroma with a little fruitiness in the taste. Subtle in flavour and nose.

33cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell. A hazy straw colour with a thin white head; spciy yeast aroma; smooth grainy body, quite sweet and chalky; with a light spicy bitterness, and a dry finish with a lingering spicy touch. Seems more like a Witbier to me.
