Nein. Zuallererst. The Padawan ist nicht nach Star Wars benannt. Die Namensgleichheit ist reiner, wenn auch keinesfalls unerwünschter Zufall. Padawan heißt „Pale Ale doing alright without a name“ und wurde 2014 in einem Online-Voting zum Biernamen für ein namenloses Bierol Pale Ale ernannt. Heute ist The Padawan nicht nur schon Klassiker sondern auch die Nr 1. der Core Range. Und das hat seinen Grund: Denn The Padawan ist irre fruchtig, irre samtig und hat alles was ein Pale Ale braucht: Die richtige Dosis (und die ist natürlich nicht gerade klein) an qualitativ hochwertigem Hopfen, ein feines, ja schon fast cremiges Mundgefühl, schlank im bernsteinfarbenen Körper und a bisserl trocken im Finish. Aber allem voran: Mango. In der Nase, am Gaumen, und es bleibt. Lange. Richtig lange. Spritzig, frisch, schlank und mit deutlicher Bittere. Keinesfalls nur Sommerbier. Unser aller Lieblingsbier!

Can thanks to Rafaela! Hazy yellow-gold with a frothy, white head. Aroma of oranges, orange-pith, and softer but sweeter mango. Taste is citric bitter over a solid malty backbone with plenty of oatmeal sweetness underneath. Body to the full side of medium, moderate carbonation, dry. Lingering citric bitterness. Good one.

Buying this beer at the Frastanzer brewery, in august 2024. Sharing it with my wife, tonight, at home, aftee a busy day. A classical pils, light and pleasant at the palate, smooth, malty, classical bitterness, a bit watery, bready. 06.01.25

Can from Beerdome. Aroma is fruity and grassy hop, citrus, oats, wheat, some pineapple. Flavour is moderate bitter with low sweetness. Medium body. Bright and easy to drink.

Canned 330ml. - at Hops Craft Beer Pub Graz. Murky orange coloured, medium sized white head, pleasant citrusy fruity nose. Citrusy, fruity, light herbal, discreet grassy and again citrusy touch in the finish. Pleasant but a bit too light.

Malty amd hoppy aroma and taste, citrus fruit, medium bitter. Medium body, malty and hoppy bitter finish. Ok.

Can. Murky golden. Garlic cream, old hay. Taste is soupy veggy cream with a tad of soapy spring onions. Sticky aftertaste.

Bottle. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Citrus hop, grapefruit. Taste: Hoppy. Citrus and tropical fruit (pineapple, orange, grapefruit, some lime). Malty backbone. Over moderate bitterness, light to moderate sweet. Medium body, average carbonation. Nice.
