Can from HavnensVinOgTobak. Pours opaque black with medium dark brown head. Aroma is intense roasted malt, freshly ground coffee, toffee, raisins, vanilla, prunes, oak, campfire smoke, Swedish cinnamon buns and hints of matches. Taste is very sweet, medium to very bitter and light acidic. Body is creamy with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long, intense and mostly sweet with intense notes of roasted malt, ground coffee, toffee, raisins, cinnamon, cardamom, prunes, oak, vanilla, mint and hints of pepper. I couldn't taste the poppy seeds, but despite it is a very well made beer

Aromas are lots of roast, molasses, raisins, prunes, dark malt. Flavors are similar to nose, very well balanced with just right bitter to sweet and carbonation. Easy drinking and alcohol as well hidden. Very nice beer.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, fluffy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, chocolate cake, couverture, some dark caramel, vanilla, dark toffee, a touch of poppy seed. Taste is sweet-ish and bitter, chocolately and roasty, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, lactose, couverture, chocolate cake, hints of dried fruit, raisin; slightly warming, alcoholic finish. Creamy to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Balanced and homogeneous, not the most complex Impy Stout - good.

330ml can. Pours an opaque black with a small, creamy, short lived, brown head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of lightly roasted malt, orange peel, dark chocolate, vanilla, raisin, poppy seeds and booze. Sweet flavour of lightly roasted malt, lactose, dark chocolate, orange peel, raisin and vanilla in a sweet, mild bitter, warming booze finish. Full body with a sticky, oily texture and soft carbonation. A tasty dessert beer to sip on.
