Can. Clear copper with an inch of cream head. Expected lush aromas but it's tauter with light bread, oranges, fresh plums, spices, hints of cherry. Full, smooth body with lowish carbonation. Some sweetness, minor underpinning darker malts, plenty of bitterness with a dry spicy end that tames but does not choke off the malt flavours. Interesting that the cherry/ plum/ spice combination never threatens to seem medicinal. I had quite a ball.

Can. Dark amber. Pine and biscuit nose. Lovely balance of malty rye and big resiny happiness. A damn good upgrade.

Pours a clear deep reddy amber with a medium head. Has a strong malty aroma with lots of rye. Taste wise, it features lots of caramel and a touch of toffee, sweet stone fruit, and a dry, resiny, rye bitterness. The texture is a touch slick and the carbonation moderate. Big, complex, balanced, cohesive and tasty. Another cracker from Dainton.
