Cloudy Bay IPA honours the hop breeders of Hop Products Australia by featuring all six hop varieties currently available from Bushy Park Estates that have been developed in HPA's breeding program - Ella, Enigma, Galaxy, Helga, HPA-035 and Summer. As proprietary strains, these hops are grown only by HPA at its two Australian farms, with the largest acreage at Bushy Park Estates in Tasmania. Generous amounts of these rare hops are used in seven separate additions during the brewing process, creating a heady blend of citrus, tropical fruit and herbal aromas. A restrained bitterness allows the earthy tartness of the Bruny Island red wheat to shine through, accentuating the tangy hop flavours

Draft at the Lincoln Hotel Melboune. hazy deep golden colour with a white head. Aroma and taste are fruity citrus light sweet and slight pine. Smooth body.

(On tap) Hazy golden amber with good white head. Lovely fruity, tangerine, aroma with hints of caramel. Medium body with lovely carbonation. Nice fruity start, the barest caramel sweetness and some pleasant bitterness in the end. Very nice.

On tap at Tom McHugo’s. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has earthy citrus with a bit of grass and sweet grains backing. Flavor has bitter citrus with a light dankness and some sweet grains underlying.

Bottle. Fairly hazy dull gold with an inch of white head. Gentle, moody and rustic aroma of ripe grapefruit, herbs, bread. Soft texture despite highish carbonation. Out of the vague bready and grainy body comes lychees and grapefruit. Maybe some other - barely ripe - tropical fruit. They waft about and are lovely. There are some light herbal and tangy notes as well in a finish that is just bitter enough to be a finish. [It _is_ hazy and hoppy but is it a Hazy/ New England IPA? Seems to owe as much to Coopers and Murray's Icon as anything. Anyway.] Alive and beguiling.

On tap at the brewery. Pours bright hazy yellow orange. Sage, pineapple, bread, mango, lemon peel, grapefruit. Quite bitter and quite savoury, but it works pretty well.

From a 500ml bottle on 11/6/2017.Pours a cloudy golden with a small head. The nose is dominated by wheat, with just a touch of fruit in the background. Flavour wise, it’s quite citrussy - orange, mandarin, lemon and grapefruit all present. There’s a bit more wheat as well, though it’s less prominent than in the aroma. The hops are reasonably firm and linger in the mouth. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Comes together reasonably well.
