On tap at Arrogant Sour Festival 2022. Hazy orange with small white head. Smoke, some fruity notes, peat, medium sourness. Not at all difficult to drink which was my expectation.

Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of smoke, peat, sausage, lots of smoke, band aid. Smoky flavour, light sour, peat. Finish peat and smoke. Quite enjoyable! (Though I agree with Tom10101 about the Lambic Peated Weizen)
(from draught @ Zwanze Day 2014, Moeder Lambik Fontainas. Thanks for sharing, ratebeer crew!)

Draft @ ML Fontainas, Italian Fest Sept ’14.

Thanks! Sampled draft @ Italian Beer Week-end / Zwanze 2014 CML. Always wanted to try a peated sour (preferably a geuze but this will have to suffice for now). Hazy orange, small creamy white head. Nose is rich peat, rounded orange, nice sour, lemon, touch phenolic Islay profile, very lovely. Taste is mellower peat, orange, light sugar, lemon, light wine, touch phenolic Islay peat in the back, acidic, wet wood smoke. Easy to drink. Very nice, could have used more depth or complexity but never the less, I really enjoyed this one.

Draught Medium, very fine & dense snowwhite head over faintly hazed yellow-orangeish beer. Sourish, lactic nose smelling from a mile off, but once close, more, if not utterly phenolic-tarry, to the detriment of anything else. Sourish- lactic returning in the mouth, and then, again, going completely towards the phenols-tarred poles, tarred sandpaper. And nothing else to experience. Medium bodied at best, well-attenuated, well-carbonated. Faint sourishness lingering on top of all the phenols in the aftertaste. A tad less phenols would have been welcome.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Light haze on this gold beer, little white head. Light and semi dry palate. Mild fine carbonation. Light dusty malt. Little lemony sourness - mellow. Medicinal note. Light dry finish. Not bad.

Bottle at Jack’s Farwell tasting, thanks to Luca for trading me another Montegioco number, 06/08/13. 2010 bottle. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white had. Nose is soured citrus fruit, bitter lemon, touch of dry rot, funky, light smoke. Taste comprises tartened orange, lemon rind, touch medicianl, must, touch of Grandads shed, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, gentle acidic burn on the finish. Nice sour affair!

Bottle thanks to Colin at Jack’s farewell tasting. It pours hazy golden with a small white head. The nose is earth, sour apricot, peach, yoghurt, damp wood and a touch of blue cheese. The taste is smooth, sour, apricot, peach, mild acidity, yoghurt, touch of alcohol, earth and light medicinal notes with a dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Not as punchy as I was hoping, but decent enough nonetheless.

Bottle shred at Bruce’s in London during Jack’s farewell tasting. Thanks to Colin for this whale. Vintage 2010. Pours hazy, pale gold with a faint, filmy white head. Nose holds some leathery citrus, hints of metal and sour lemon. Light sweet flavor, subtly herbal, lots of leathery and slightly jammy citrus, moderate tang. Light bodied with fine, tingly carbonation. Mild tang in the finish, soft warmth, some tangy lemon, leather, light bitter citrus rind. So so.
