Pours hazy brown with a lasting, small, foamy, tan head. Aroma of raisin, plum, cake, red apple, toffee, sugared green tea. Taste has sweet brown sugar, raisin, plum & cake, a bit nutty with a hint of tea leaves. Malty, fruity finish, soft herbal hops and soft herbal liqueur alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Not 'in your face' organic, this aspect gives it its own character but in the end it's also (and mostly) a downside.

Bière 33 cl. Robe brune aux reflets rougeâtres. Nez assez alcooleux, avec des notes de caramel, levure et épices. Bouche à l’attaque douce, carbonatation moyenne, rondeur, épices. Pas mal.

F: big, tanned, good retention. C: dark brown, hazy, red hue against the light. A: malty, fruity, caramel, dark bread, sweet cherries, bit of yeast. T: malty, fruity, iron, dark bread, caramel, brown sugar, dried fruits, medium to full body, medium to high carbonation, nothing special but I like bio, 33cl bottle from BIO-PLANET JAMBES supermarket in Namur.

24/08/2016 @home - 33cl bottle from a bioshop in Brussels South Railwaystation. Thick rubybrown with nice dark tanned head. Nose is dark malts, berries, metallic. Taste is first sweet sour, dark malts, caramel, some berries, metallic, light roast, on warming up some mocha and chocolate, dry ending. Pitty of the metallic that sometimes disturbs the nice experience.

Stumbled upon this by accident at the Gentse Feesten in 2013. An organic ’massieve ale’, this had a light beige, thick head over a deep bronze, hazy robe; caramelly and fruity flavour, soft mouthfeel, chocolate touch, spicy yeastiness, raisins, some herbal hop bitterishness and warming alcohol in the finish. I usually do not have the best memories of organic beers, but this surely was one of the better ones I had so far.

Bottle from Delhaize supermarket . Pours clear, yet very dark brown ( with a red glow ) Small and instantly fading white head . Smell is earthy, sweet , metallic, some spices , muddy , rotting leaves . Taste is sweet, with a bitter touch . Malty background, but is very overpowered by sugar, earth/dirt , leaves , buttery ( almost milky ) touch . Some spices kinda-thing ( yet I’m not sure they really are spices ) . Bit wattery ( way to watery for the ABV ) and not a long aftertaste . It has got some uniqueness to it, but I’d say it needs just that little more ... meh ..

Towering tan-to-cream head, receding over hazy rubyred (they got that one right!) beer. Rather neutral nose (head isn’t helping). Some wood, very faint lactic acid. Quite fruity too, (old) red fruit, mainly. Woody character, with tannines and lactic acid (especially in the finish), but with a marked suppression (I’d even mention oppression) from the molasses, that cannot be overlooked. Despite the acid, rather creamy texture; well-carbonated; medium bodied. Overpowering molasses. Had those been held in check, I might have quite liked this (typical Strubbe) beer. Available in Bioplanet supermarkets.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with Deanso. Poured a hazy dark brown with a reddish hue and a frothy light tan head. The aroma is over ripe red berry fruit . The flavour is medium sweet with a rich fruit super sweet sugary palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nice to sample, but I can feel my teeth rotting already. Too much sweetness isn’t good.
