As dark as beers come. Big flavour of chocolate, coffee and roast. Aged in whiskey barrels to give a vanilla whiskey finish to this extremely strong beer. Does well with extended cellaring.

650 ml bottle poured. Waxed. Pour a dark reddish black with a small bubble head. Rough aroma of overly sweet malt. Flavor is much smoother with chocolate, dark fruit. And a big sweet finish. Interesting beer.

2015 edition bottle, 11.9% alcohol listed. Black body with a hint of transparency and a very modest beige head. Heavy aroma of fusels and cherries, some notes of barley but the chemicals are coming off way too strong on the nose. Flavour is thick and chewy molasses and licorice, strong with a bite, and a dry finish. This hits on a few levels but it lacks the finesse that a brute of a brew like this style should have - itβs overbearing at this point.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some black chocolates notes with some dry woody notes. Taste is also dominated by dry woody notes with light vanilla undertones and some dry and bitter black chocolate notes. Body is about average but thinner then I was anticipating with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. A bit too dry for my taste buds and lacking body with some lack of integration between al the flavors.

Bottle from a trade. Shared @ RBBWG 2015. Dark brown, small head. Medium carbonation. Well balanced beer. Aroma of roasted malts, light bourbon, some vanilla, not too sweet or boozy. Good!

Thanks to JefVerstraete! 650 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG IV. Blackish dark brown, little to no head; Nose is sweet cheap chocolate, mocha, light umami, sweet sugar. Taste is vanilla, sweet bourbon, sweet cheap chocolate, quite a bit of liquorish, brown sugar, lots of bourbon vanilla sweetness, finish is a bit bitter, faint roast but mainly sweet. Slick bodied, not the best in its category but very nice all the same.
