Sundowner – ‘an alcoholic drink taken at sunset’ – Oxford English Dictionary. This is truly a great beer to sup on a summer’s eve. A deep, golden beer, the nose has tropical fruit, pineapple and citrus notes with a smooth maltiness in the background. There is a balanced dry & bitter finish, with a floral hop aroma.

50cl bottle from Tesco, Camberley. Pale amber with a ring of white head; slightly stewed, malty aroma; soft and sweet in the mouth, with some tinned pineapple to start, then some lemony citrus; and a dry floral finish. A pleasant summer ale, but slightly over pasteurised.
