Pours dark brown, ok white head. Smell is burnt malts, mild bitter touches, some caramel. Taste is sharp, dark malts, mild metallic aspects. Some sweetness, but in a very roasty way. Intense on the roasty side, esp. for the style ! Good MF for the abv, even though this kind of taste usually pairs with thicker beer ( at higher ABV, that is) . Nice carbo. Nothing bad at all with this beer, au contraire...

Bottle @ home. Dark red-brown to dark brown color, average sized light brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, a light to moderate sweetness. Taste malts, lightly dark fruits, lightly a hint of wood in the distance, light to moderately sweet, slightly earthy, raisins, dark malts. Medium body, quite smooth mouthfeel, suitable medium carbonation. Well, I like this one. A very good example of the style imo.

Thanks! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ BBF 2014. Surprisingly blackish with mocha head only on the sides. Nose is liquorish, brown sugar, malts & lighter cold coffee. Taste is too heavy for my personal preferences on chicory coffee, herbal, cold herbal coffee, malts, banana, light bitter hops. Touch metallic & thin body. After some quite interesting beers, Gulden re-branding themselves with yet another Blond / Dubbel / Tripple / Quadrupel seems like a step back to me personally. This one was easily my favorite of the whole but honestly did little to really excite me still.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige to brown head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of chocolate, banana, dried fruits, soft roastedness, almost burned. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: soft sourness, quite some banana, milk chocolate, some butter scotch, caramel, dried fruits, little hoppy. Aftertaste: little sweet, banana, caramel, dried fruits, more chocolate. Very decent beer!
