Glass from a bottle at the 2014 Brugge Beer Festival, sampled along side it’s Blonde brother (which I prefered to be honest). Pours a pleasing amber (who would have thought it would be amber?) colour with a thin white head. Nose is caramel sweet with a mixed fruit bowl and yeastiness. The taste again malty sweet with a fruit feel, some light spice notes: didn’t float my boat really. medium bodied and OK overall, it just lacked an alcohol kick compared to it’s Blonde stable mate. Decent enough but it did not stand out like so many others I had before and after it on the day.

If it’s an amber then it’s a very pale one. Aroma and flavour have pleasant caramel sweetness. It’s also quite yeasty. Carbonation is intense. Finish is quite watery.

Quite malty flavour, light hops, quite fruity. Very sweet, malty flavour, light hops, caramel, rain water. Soapy finish, caramel and a touch of milk.
Not my favourite of the festival. And quite honest, I don’t see why it is called ’amber’, would say it’s more golden blond in colour.
(Sample from bottle @ Brugs Bier Festival 2013)

33cl bottle @ home. Murky opaque orange color, big dense white head that’s fully lasting. Smell oxidation, really doesn’t smell good. Taste is sour, infected. Probably not gonna finish this...

Bottle from beer planet. clear orange, small smooth white head. Fruity and exotic fruity aroma, very malty, sweet malty, maltier than i had expected, leaning toward barley wine almost. perhaps also slightly grassy aroma, but in a nice spicy way. flavor is malty, slightly bitter, slightly bitter hops, practically no fruits. tastes a lot stronger than 5% abv. belgian yeast. end is slightly floral or fruity. leaves a dry feel to the mouth, but also sweet malty notes.

Bottle, 5%. OK mild malty aroma. Hazy copper colour. Small stable tan head. The flavour has some flowery aroma, some yeast. A little grainy in the finish.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Reddish amber no real head. Not that good really. Some staleness and not very well put together. Only some faint fruit.
