Can from the brewery, pouring a dark brown colour with some copper-lightly-ruby highlights. The warm beige head is big, creamy, long lasting and leaving good dirty lacing. Roasted malt nose with some vanilla, oat softening and a touch of cacao. The taste has the roasted barley, wet, mild, with some light sweetness, creaminess and the dryness being very light. A heavier Schwarzbier, if that is your thing. Had the Von Trapp one today at the brewery, and preferred it.

Can thanks to JMFP. Pours dark brown with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malt and dark fruit. Slick body, dark fruit, raisin, nice sweetness, very good.

Can from Chris D: pours near black with beige head. Aroma is pretzels, coffee, straw, dark chocolate. Taste is somewhat bitter, low sweetness, earthy with notes of caramel (but less so than in a märzen). Light and pretty refreshing. Solid all around.

Can shared with Todd, thanks for the opportunity! Dark brown with faint garnet at the edges and a tightly bubbled tan head that slowly dissipates. Rich toasty crusty maltiness with hints of chocolate and just enough earthy floral hops to keep it from cloying. Nice Schwartz!

Pours cola into a tulip. Tan soapy head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Dark caramel, earth and bark aromas. Crisp with dusty caramel, tree bark and black tea upfront turning to mild toasted marshmallow in the lasting finish.
