Keg at CW Family & Friends, Session 2 @Manchester Central, 22/02/20. Black with a well presented tan head. Nose is sweet malts, chocolate melt, Crunchie bar, brown sugars, marzipan. Taste comprises chocolate, marzipan, mellow roast, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar melt. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of booze. Decent enough sipper but lacks a little balance for me coming over a touch too sweet and coated with marzipan.

0.33l can from 'Bierloods22', best before December 2025. Black with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, just slightly roasty aroma of loads of pistachio, marzipan, some chocolate and a touch of coffee. Gently sweet, malty, fairly roasty taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, licorice, tobacco, some marzipan and a touch of pistachio, followed by a long, very roasty-bitter, slightly earthy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. The aroma is all baklava, almost off-putting and maybe even a little artificial, but the taste is rather that of a classic, roasty RIS with the addition of some baklava. Not bad, actually, but quite odd.
