“So Pale and one ‘crystal’ malt, a single hop and English Ale yeast. This is our homage to the great British pint, or Boring Brown Beer as we like to put it. I mean to say, how plain is Belgian Special B crystal malt, or the American C-hop Chinook? How boring can a 7%+ beer with 100+ IBU really be?

Keg at Craft. Smells interesting, I can see the brown bitter thing, but it's beefed up. Very malty, little bit of spice. Taste is good too. Brown bread, sparkly, caramel, light spiciness. Loads going on. Great stuff.

Dark brown with thin head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of sweet malts and dark dried fruit. Very light sourness balances the sweetness well.

Bottle from Oddbins Beer Shop, Blackheath. Brown pour with a white head. Raisin, toffee and dark fruit aroma with some notes of sweet spice. Chocolate, raisin and sweet spice flavour with a light bitter edge. Good stuff.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a deep hazy brown with tan head. Initial nutty, cereal malts with a blast of chinook up the rear and a coarse earthy finish. I like what they have done here.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep amber to auburn. Nice lacy head. Nose - big oranges, wholemeal bread. Taste - more bread and citrus with a light rye spice on the finish. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a dry tangy finish. Overall - boring my arse! Between a double IPA and a barley wine.

500ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb & Stuu666. Pours hazy amber with a thin cream-coloured head (it ain’t brown!). Aromas of pine, citrus, light solvent. Taste is slightly sweet, bit boozy, more orange. Woody bitter, long finish. (it ain’t boring either)
