330 ml bottle. Purs hazy brown, almost no head. Looks like a good fermented kvass. Aroma has bee wax and honey, some bitter notes, alcohol. Quite nice actually. Taste is a bit sour, has honey sweetness and aftertaste leaves a strong and lingering bee wax taste. Quite nice beer, sweetness is not cloying at all, slow drinker, interesting and one of the best honey beers I have had.

Christmas version of Zatte Bie, with less stable, thinner, more yellowish foam, less sweet onset but more sticky sweetness in the finish, which also shows roasted bitterness absent in Zatte Bie. Otherwise pretty much the same, including the very dark red-brown colour, the honey, the chocolatey malts and the sweet spiciness.

2011 Vintage. 33 cl. bottle sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. Reddish dark brown with a tanned head. Nose is full of the same thick brown honey as I found in the other Bie beers I have tried prior to this one, pretty odd, very thick & sweet with lots of sweet spices, touch lessened with age. Taste is lots of the Bie honey, touch lessened by age making it more approachable, pretty interesting stuff, very thick brown sugar, sweet spices, faint herbs. Bit thinned by age, I think that age has def. improved this one, still pretty quaint brew like their others, def. better this time around.
