Bottle. Slightly cloudy dark orange with large off-white foamy head, slight vanilla aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter taste with Belgian yeast characteristics, thick body, long bitter finish. More Belgian than American, with a bitter kick.

From a 65 cl bomber generously shared by Ster of Amsterdam’s BeerTemple at her place. Apparently an intentional hybrid (hence the name as well, I suppose) of tripel and DIPA, with coarse, fairly thick, lacing, stable, egg-white head and deep amberish orange blonde colour, hazy with deposit. Rich and pleasant aroma of orange peel, dry cookies, pink grapefruit, mango, cantaloupe, biscuit, red apple, dry white wine. Sweetish but ’cleanly’ fruity onset, honeyish malt sweetness underneath, refreshing citrus peel, resiny and aromatic hoppy finish coming across as indeed very DIPA-like, with grapefruit, some pine and tropical flowers as well as a dash of warming alcohol. Lovely beer, whatever the style.

500 ml bottle. Amber orange color topped by a massive foamy beige head. Fragrant sweet malt aroma. Hints of yeast, honey, tangerine and floral hops. Interesting mashup of styles. Bittersweet caramel malt flavor upfront. Spicy, oily, resiny hops in midtaste. Firm and flavorful with intense hop bitterness and warming alcohol in finish. Quite tasty.

Amber to copper colored, nice lacing, medium strong off white head. Aroma is malt, peppery, some yeast and hay. Taste follows the nose, moderate sweet malt, some caramel, yeast, straw, lemongrass, spices-peppery, medium+ lasting bitterness which is a bit harsh, astringent, dry finish. Medium bodied and carbonation. Not buying it...
