Draft. Pours a dark brown with medium head. Aroma is malty and strong. Taste is caramel, bread, noticeable alcohol. Very good though.

Kleines Fläschchen, optisch dunkles braun, Cremeschaum, hält aber nicht lange. In der Nase malzig, Trauben, Cognac, im Trunk würzig, dezent süß, leicht röstig, garnicht verkehrt.

Bottle. Goodness, this was a very tasty beer. Dark color. Nice date, fig, coffee, pleasant flavor. Warms one’s belly. Nice beer to enjoy after a day on the slopes. Highly recommended.

clear dark mahogany brown, minimal beige head. Aroma of ripe fruit, lots of malt, and some alcohol. Flavour is very malty, and loaded with ripe fruit, mostly figs, and plums, with an abundance of caramel flavour. Wow, very nice stuff, smooth, and not over powering.

Аромат сильный, солодовый, очень дрожжевой, сладкий. Немного темных фруктов, слива и изюм. Цвет темный, пенка средняя, хотя быстро падает. Вкус сильно дрожжевой, даже слишком местами. Хорошо ощущаются темные фрукты и слива. Пиво слегка пряное при глотке. Послевкусие сладкое, хотя в меру, само тело весьма плотное. Снова много дрожжевых и хлебных ноток.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Dark brown colored brew with an velvet slightly sweet bitter taste, with hints of caramel, dried fruits, almond and something like coffee. It seems this is the first Eisbock.

Notes from March 2011 3.01/5 rDev -26.9% look: 4 - smell: 3 - taste: 3.5 - feel: 2.5 - overall: 2 Bottle from WF Bowery. Same Carlsberg pils glass. Too lazy at the moment to do anything but rinse & drink. :) First pour was nearly all head. Took it's sweet time to settle too. Cream-colored lace. Filtered, dark brown body, ruby hued. Even blood spatter. Sharp sweetness on the nose. Banana candy & some rum raisin-ish notions. A sticky can of malt concentrate. Glue stick. Raisins, black tea, Euro malt, oxidation. Metallic, straight bittering hops. Macerated imperial kvass breadiness. Licorice & toast finish. Thick feel. Stiff alcohol. Lack of carbonation. A bit difficult, though expected. I fully expect someone to tell me that I had an old bottle. Not great. : -
