Thanks to Alengrin. 750 ml. bottle sampled @ “Tim needs to get rid of his ticks” Tasting. Enjoyed together with tderoeck, Benzai & Alengrin. Clear red amber, little head. Metallic nose, herbs, iron, caramel syrup. Taste is caramel, thin fizzy, lightly metallic, light herbs, lightly fruity. Body is a bit fizzy & thin. Okay for what it is but it certainly didn’t blow me away as promised by the commercial description.

clear amber colour, huge, stable slightly yellowish off white head; aroma of dried fruits, caramel, honey notes, and some floral hops; taste of caramel, dried fruits, syrupy-honey notes and some minimal bitterness in the background - quite good beer

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, deep amber colour with a beige and big foamy head. Yeasty, toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel, bread crusts and a touch of dried fruits and nuts. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Bready and mildly toasted malty taste with notes of caramel and dried fruits; sweet malty finish, getting slightly thinner towards the very end; dried fruits and caramel in the aftertaste. 07.X.14

Bottle from Brune Rousse Houblon, Nice. Amber-brown with no head. Fairly complex with a mainly malt and grain character but there’s fruit in the nose and taste too. It’s a pretty good ale though.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes bernsteinfarbnes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch fruchtig malzig, würzig. Geschmack fruchtig süß, würzig malzig.

750ml bottle from Henri’s, shared with jeevan. Clear ruby pour, frothy white head. Aromas of not-a-great-deal, light yeasty esters and caramel. Taste is too sweet for me. Finishes clean to metallic. OK.

330ml bottle from Auchan. Pours a reddish brown.. a little sweeter than I anticipated with more of a caramelly Biere de Garde taste.. some malts coming through and a touch of dried fruits. Ok but not quite hitting the same notes as other BdGs I’ve had recently.
