Thanks to tderoeck! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Tim needs to get rid of his ticks” Tasting. Enjoyed together with tderoeck, Benzai & Alengrin. Dark brownish amber with no head. Nose is boozy sherry oxidation, flat varnish, oak, paint-like oxidation. Taste is a boozy flat mix of oxidized sherry beer not in a favorable way mixed with flavours reminiscent of paint, completely flat with some cardboard in the back, boozy (prob. at least partially due to lack carbonation), furniture wood. This isn’t how it should be. Not good at all.

18/I/15 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: n/a (2015-50)

Clear dark purple brown beer, small layer of big bubbles, dissipates immediately. Aroma: lots of alcohol, dried fruits, caramel, vanilla touch, sugary, chocolate. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: lots and lots of alcohol, bit sugary, caramel. Aftertaste: just more alcohol, alcohol, slightly sourish touch, more alcohol, soft touch of mocha, very thin, alcoholic. Congratz, you made alcohol. I wouldn't even call it beer, actually. :(

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Clear dark red color, virtually no head. Only get malts and a light sweetness in the aroma. Taste malts, sweetness, lightly alcohol, somehow lightly some wood. Hmm not one of the best Quadruples I’ve had. And that might actually be lightly put. Flat to average carbonation and average body at best. Not very good.

Bouteille 33cl from HopDuvel. No BB date.

B. C. "H." imitation over cola-coloured beer. Sweet, liqueurish nose; spirit, but especially like a vintage, fortified wine, if certainly not necessarily port. Tastes as an old, madeirised strong Belgian ale. Which is what it is, probably. Oxydation in a mild way (no BBD to be perceived). Faint, short bitterish impression, followed by (diluted) syrupy fruitiness. Faint impression of cinnamon, after some time. Flat as a pancake, very syrupy if short of sticky. Madeirised. Sweet. Not much more to tell.

Bottle. Clear copper to ruby color, small to medium sparkling head. Head is actually buidling while I’m typing this and it makes a lot of noise like a coca cola. Aroma of a belgian quad with lots of caramel malt, sugary notes, spicy belgian yeast, raisin, madeira, bit fruity. Taste is lots of caramel and raisin again, quite sweet, but that is countered by a relatively thick body (compared to most rather dry belgian examples). Alcohol burns a bit in the end, but it fits the beer. Soft sparkle. Massive beer, tad too much alcohol if you ask me, but turned out very nice.
