The original experiment in the use of boiled wort of Sardinian grape juice, has been able to reach the point of absolute taste and finesse with the BB9, characterized by the Malvasia grape. Rich in hues of wine, citrus and exotic fruit, primarily passion fruit bestowed from the grape and sage-like mènage of German, American and New Zealand hops which provide a unique bouquet, the BB9 treats the palate to a notable and fruity experience which is a prelude to a delicately dry and slightly bitter aftertaste interspersed with spicy peppery flavours.

High quality beers, according to the Barley style and philosophy, dry in the aftertaste with moments of freshness and seasonings which, in addition to cleansing the tongue, contrast the unction and heaviness of greasy and succulent foods. The wide range of the variegated Sardinian gastronomy, coupled with the afore-mentioned characteristics of the BB9 permit the beer to be enjoyed with both meat and fish cuisine. In the first case, from pasta dishes such as culurgionis served with sea urchin ragout or fregola, a Sardinian couscous style dish, with tomato sauce, sausage and pecorino cheese to the redoubtable lamb stew and in the second case it is excellent with sea food and raw fish.

Thick-set light mango-yellow head, stable, over lazily carbonated veiled orange beer. Exotic fruit nose, gassy, lightly coloured malts. Bitterish-toasted-caramel on a maltsyrup base. Bit astringent despite lots of restsugars and candi sugar. Faint fruity surrounding. Feels better carbonated than it looks, medium bodied, oily to viscous, bit sticky, some alcohol obvious. Strange beer. With "mosto d'uve" one might be allowed to expect some vinous features. None of those... generally mediocre. 6/4/6/3/12

Bottle 0,75 at Baccusardus in Cagliari airport (Sardinia-Italy). The appearance of their beers is unique and this one is just great. Orange semi clear and super bright, great white foam with extra retention and drafts. Nose: this wild aroma of Mediterranean herbs, wild flowers, macerated grapes, almonds. Mouth: round feel of a Belgian beer with a highlight of wine, marzapane.

Bottle picked up from Eataly. Genoa, consumed at Fairport Annual Reunion, Friday 11th August 2017. The colour (cheers Bob) is hard to determine owing to the rather tricky drinking vessel, however think light amber. Fruity in the mouth, pokey but (Loz big fan) nice, a bit of warmth. Bottle sample @ LIBF’17, thanks to the RB-InBev Belgian crew for the share. Paille-orange, fin col blanc.

Clear orange beer, creamy white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, nice stuff, yeasty, some banana, sweet and sugary impressions. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter, hoppy, malty, bit soapy, sugary, alcohol, citrus touch. Aftertaste: sweet, fruity, some banana peel, sugary finish. Decent one, but not super duper.
