Torpah is a range of 3 single hop beers, each made from a unique and singly type of hop, hence the name. That’s why it’s a single hop.
The 3 hop varieties selected come from 3 different continents and bring a large variety of flavors directly linked to the characteristics of the land of those countries:
United States (Chinook)
New-Zealand (Wai-ti)
France (Aramis).
The declinations of Torpah, 30 – 60 – 90, refer directly to the IBU (bitterness index) present in each of those beers. This induces you to taste them all to see the progressive intensity of the bitterness and the work that has been achieved around each hop.

Can shared in Hackney - thanks to Fergus. Pours clear gold with a tight, creamy white head. The nose holds pine needles, citrus peel, straw. Light-medium sweet flavour with grassy bitterness, crunchy pale grains, tangerine. Medium bodiednwith fine carbonation. Warming finish, with more husky grains and citrus peel. OK overall.

Can from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a medium off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of white bread, sugar and orange pith. Flavour of grass, lemon, elderflower and raw hops. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Sharp and bitter - not much else going on.

Can shared with JMD at HNB 18.12.17. A gusher. Hazy golden. Foamy, but uneven, white head. Aroma of citrus zest and bark. Taste of bitter citrus, sorrel and pilsner malt. Dry and tart mouthfeel. Citrus bitterness is lingering on.

At a tasting, thanks, small stable bubbly head, light hazy and a touch pale orange color, aroma of yeast with hints of jam tea and mineral and something slightly perfumy, herbal flowery flavor, light citrusy sourness, herbal bitterness. Quite pleasant.

Bottle from a Delhaize in Bruges. Pours hazy yellow with a lasting, off-white head. The aroma contains grapefruit, exotic fruit, flowery hops, yeast, herbs & spices, citrus & orange. It tastes light sweet and medium to heavy bitter, with a long, very bitter and dry finish. Medium body, slick/watery texture, fizzy carbonation. A bit overdone in its drying effect. Just a bit less pleasant than Torpah 60.
