Test vom 13.7.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,9,12,9,12,10 - 10,30

Bottle. Pours mid-yellow. Massive carbonation. Head is negligible. Nose is and spicy with a sour bit of skunk. All in all ok. It doesn’t taste of much, but you can taste the gritty flavour of the malt. Bittersweet with an odd sweet finish. Aftertaste a bit off though. Tasted like a beer, which is more than I can say for most macro lagers. Surprisingly passable.

500 ml. brown – luckily – bottle @ home. Procured from Anna Maria in Antwerp. BBF 01/03/2014. Clear pale golden & as clear as water (if there were gradations for clearness, this beer might score full marks in the top criteria) with basically no head. Nose is pretty odd, raw dough, cookies mixed with pale lager grains, starch, sweeteners, pale lager hop oil. Okay. Taste is pale lager grains, white sugar, faint raw cookie dough, hop oil, dust, faint grass,… Oily body, this stuff is okay for a pale lager & somewhat drinkable.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts quite moldy with some grasy-moldy notes, a bit sourish-soapy. Hardly dry. Finish more balanced, not as moldy as the beginning. Okay. But nothing special.

Bottled, 0.50l. Clear straw color with large frothy white head, nice lacing and almost flat visible carbonation. Aroma of hay, grassy hops, grainy malt, mild floral honey, paper and a bit of skunk. Taste starts with light sweet malt and cooked vegetables, followed by grainy and light citric acidity, while finished moderate grassy bitter. Light body, thin texture and soft carbonation in palate. Refreshing, but unpleasant...

Bottle. Aroma rather hoppy, and not very good at that. Clear yellow colour. Stable head. Taste worse than their low alc. Sweet, stale, oxidated beer. Some low ambiguous bitterness. This is really bad.

0.5L can at home, given by a friend who went to Russia, anyway i don’t see why this beer is given such a low scores... it isn’t that bad, just regular beer, a bit sweet but it doesn’t have anything bad to it...

I reckon they filled the bottles right out of the Neva. This beer is very watery and slightly chemical. Not that good.
