Wyraźnie wyczuwalna goryczka, swoisty chmielowy smak oraz bursztynowy kolor to główne zalety Perły Mocnej. Jest to piwo wysokiej jakości, warzone w tradycyjny sposób. Doskonałe surowce oraz długi okres fermentacji i leżakowania nadają temu piwu niepowtarzalny aromat i mocny głęboki charakter.

At a tasting, thanks, clear and quite deep gold color, small bubbly head, malt, cardboard and wood aroma, quite swet nutty fruity flavor with an oxidized hint. Not good.

Can. Abbey Stop Shop, Sheffield. Typical looks. Nose has plenty of grassy hop. Some sugary malts. Some caramel. Taste is caramel sweet. Not a lot else. Fairly smooth. A bit of diesel slickness. Trace of bitterness on the finish. Drinkable.

Typical Eastern European strong ’alcoholics’ lager’ from a can picked up at a Polish night shop. Thick, creamy, dense, lacing, snow white head, cristal clear golden blonde colour with strong fizz. Aroma of soaked corn, very strong ’can iron’, old books, sweaty grains, hint of grass. Neutral taste with strong minerally carbo, simple and very grainy, as well as very metallic middle phase with a hint of sweetish corn, surprisingly light body, more or less neutral finish with a brief suggestion of grassy hops without true bitterness, but bizarrely the alcohol stays hidden. Metallic, grainy flavour lingers. Cheap and expectedly not good, but it did strike me how the alcohol has been kept remarkable well in the background seen its strength, paired with light body and low sweetness, and in that respect not the worst one I had in this particular style.

18th Nov 2015: 500ml Black can at home, into a UK pint sleeve. Clear, clean golden body with a full white head that tried to stay around. Slight aroma of floral hops and a corn/cereal hint. The taste was leaning towards sweet maltiness with a semi-hop calming bitterness. Doesn’t feel like a Park Bench beer and the alcohol content was nicely hidden: I thought this OK.

Can 500ml (Carrefour, Warsaw). Clear amber color, small white head. Grainy, sweetish apple aroma. Light-body for this abv. I wonder what happened to malts. Papery, thin, apple alcohol. Not as sweet as some mocnes, but badly lacks both malts and hops.

F: big frothy, quick diminishing. C: true gold colour. A: metallic, malt, some hops alcohol as well. T: weak malt, metallic, a hint of fruity like strawberries, surprisingly alcohol is hidden, easy drinkable, cheap 1,25e from local corner Polish shop, euro strong pale lager, not await too much from taste.

Can from Princes Supermarket Ashford, drunk at home. Clear gold thin white head. Aroma of lager malts. A little bit of golden syrup in the mouth. I mean it’s not terrible a bit sweet maybe. Doesn’t taste overly strong. It’s ok. Not much flavour to be honest. OK.

50 cl. can @ home, shared with Rick, bought @ Winkelties, Culemborg. Clear darkish golden with a with head. Strong grainy aroma. Taste is malty as well, with some alcohol sweetness. Not as bad as most strong pale lagers.
