Bottle from Daniel & Shannon - Cheers! 🍻 Foamy tan head left a spotty cover on a dark oak coloured still body. Malt & chocolate aroma. Medium bodied, tingly with a smooth clean finish. Malt, chocolate, berries, spiced fruit & raisin tastes. Nice one.

In my hand is a 33 cl bottle of Augustijn Donker delivered to me by the good people at belgiuminabox. My thanks. Dubbels are at the upper echelon for me, let us have a go at this. My Straffe Hendrik snifter is arrayed for this sampling. The pour is a brown-amber liquid topped by a respectable covering of light tan foam. I determine a scent of dark fruit, candy, grain and hay. The taste is a leap up and forward. Malt, toffee, candied fruit, yeast, biscuit, dark raisins and alfalfa. There is depth in this, chewy I think. Quite good. Well worth the effort to obtain.

World class beer. Only a few months before expiration and just on point. Malty yet belgian yeast driven with just a touch of beautiful belgian candi sugar. Rich caramel. Online beerwulf

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a murky chestnut brown colour with a thinnish soapy looking beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel and some spice. Taste is again the same notes as the aroma more dry dark fruits, caramel, a little spice and also a little brown sugar. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation, slightly oil mouthfeel and a fruity, spicy and slightly sweet finish. Very well balanced. Moreish. Very nice Belgian brown.

0.33 bottle. Great reddish brown color, large and durable creamy head. Aroma is restrained, sweet and fruity at the same time, round, well-hit. Simple but well-hit burnt sugar flavor. There is nothing that comes to the fore, smoothly a good sweet, fruity, sour, and at the same time bitter, well-hit dubbel. Not the most full-bodied, but that's why it's easier for me to drink. I recommend.

Remek vörösesbarna szín, nagy és tartós krémszínű hab. Illata visszafogott, édeskés, egyben gyümölcsös is, kerek, jól eltalált.

0.75l bottle, small explosion when opening but beer stay calm. Smell-weak malt, caramel, fruits. Foam- thin, bit to medium, caramel, malt, sweet, faint Belgian notes, acidic. Head is small to medium creamy, white brown-ish color. Appearance- simple bottle. Clear-ish dark ruby color, no carbonation. From - snifter Taste - sweet, acidic, caramel, malt. Generally malty, faint sweetness with acidic sourness. Not much to talk about, drinkable enough, but will not spend to try this again.

Perfectly drinkable yet super safe and boring Belgian dubbel. Plenty of cacao, nice and malty, reasonable body, pretty sweet. Ticks all the boxes, and there's nothing wrong with it. Just not great or exciting.
