Bottle, BB 01.18 (from SIP). Pours orange with whiteish head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, hoppy, caramel, citrus, nice Amarillo profile. Flavor is sweet and bitter, sugar, caramel, malt, citrus, resin. Alcohol is well covered for the ABV. Overall: very nice surprise (expectations were not high...), bit too sweet and silly in theory (409 IBU!), but reminds me De Molen Amarillo, which is one of my favorite DIPA-s.

Collab of no less than three Italian craft breweries, one of which (Dada) I never heard of. Bottle at La Tana, thanks Nelson for sharing. Tightly ’papery’ lacing, moussy, medium thick, egg-white head, cloudy orangey peach blonde robe. Aroma bursts with lovely dank hoppiness, lychee, wet marihuana, orange juice, grapefruit peel, chicken spices, gin, pine resin, biscuit. Fruity onset, passion fruit and mango hints with sharpish carbo, bit minerally, full body, bit oily mouthfeel; thick biscuity and toasted malt backbone supporting a long, drying, aromatic, peppery hop bitter finish with retronasal tropical notes; warming alcohol in the end as well. Quite generic for its style, but very well executed and highly recommended.

Bottle from GBBF 2015 and drunk at home. Russet hazy colour lasting beige head. Slightly over the top herbal aroma, getting on the way too being just too intense and a little on the Radox shower gel side. So not a great aroma. Biggish sweetish in the mouth. Then harsh hops on the finish. Bits of it are good but there is that pine fresh edge that is just too much for me. I don’t hate it, but that pine fresh flavour is just overpowering.

33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Rome. BBE 07/2016
Aroma is rather mild with some grainy tones, hay and gooseberry bush. Flavour is rather hoppy with grapefruit, leathery bush leaves and some cereal. Finishes with lingering hoppiness and menthol. Also mild herbal tones. Not exactly balanced and somewhat stuffy.

Bottle shared at Chrisso’s May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Thanks to Tanya? Aroma is orange peel, resinous hop, caramel malts. Quite a lot of hot alcohol in the nose. Bright orange coloured pour with some haze and a loose fleeting white head. Flavour is harsh grapefruit bitterness, caramel malts, hot alcohol, slight skunk. Palate is chewy and resinous, with a harsh bitterness in the finish.

25th May 2014
Tasting at the ever gracious ChrisO’s. Kernel rotbox treat. Hazy gold beer, tidy off white head. Light dry malt, semi sweet. Still a fair amount of hop bitterness here. Orange peel as well as bitter pine. Light dry finish shows some oxidisation. All things considered, it has survived well.

Bottle @ Chriso May 14 tasting. Pours amber, bitter prickly orange taste, fruity yeast, some spice and malts. I sense this is perhaps not in peak condition.

From the Kernel Rotbox. Care of Leighton. It pours amber with a small white head. The nose is fresh, stewed orange, tangerine, must, sherbet and candy. The taste is bitter, watery, orange peel, must, alcohol, toasty, spice, resin, alcohol, orange muffin and dirt with a hot, citric finish. Medium+ body an fine carbonation. You are past it old timer....

Bottle from Birratrovo, Como; bb 310514 L2013
Cloudy light amber color with medium sized creamy head. The aroma is only partially fruity, it’s mostly earthy, animal; there are also some soft hop resins. Good body strength; the malt flavor has accents of caramel and toffee, and it’s moderately sweet; strong bitterness, nothing close to the theoretical 409 IBU, but the hop is tired, not able to propose freshness; there is some orange jam; the hop resins tickle the tongue in the long final.
A good beer overall, but it seems an exercise that didn’t get to the highest result.
