IPA, bitter and with a strong character, intense herbal flavour. Colour copper-amber, very high head. In mouth the full-bodied sweetness of the malts rivals with the bitterness of the hops, prevailing in the end the latter, with the help of the green olives of Sóller which are contributing also bitterness.

It has a bitterness of 80 IBU and an alcohol content of 7 % vol.

Sullerica “1561” is elaborated with a blend of Maris Otter, Melanoidin and Crystal malt, flavoured with the Pilgrim, E.K. Goldings and Cascade hops (the latter are added in a triple dry-hopping process). Sullerica 1561 also contains green olives of Sóller which contribute an additional and very characteristic bitterness.

33 cl bottle. A hazy reddish brown pour with a tan, thick, short-lived head. Aroma is red berries, earth, clay, biscuit. Not so dry, sticky, and again not so fresh mouthfeel. Overly bitter, long-lasting finish. Bad.

Bottle, 14 months before bbd. Pours hazy orange, with an enormous creamy, off white head. Aroma is hops with pine, orange peel and floral notes, as well as malts with burned caramels, toffee and heather. Medium body, with soft to average carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with cereals, burned caramels, toffee and heather, as well as hops with pine, citrus peel and herbal, grassy notes. Drinks more like a barley wine than an IPA, but a quite decent one though.
