Black, almost no head or carbonation. Aroma of cough syrup (well, I guess that’s Wintery) also Salmiak. Feels very slick and oily. Flavour of Salmiak, wet wood with a bitter coffee edge to the finish.

Sampled @ O.B.E.R. Kerstbierfestival 2014, Essen. Dunkelbraunes Bier mit geringer beiger Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, schokoladig, würzig, reife Früchte. Geschmack nach reifen Früchten, röstmalzig, etwas Kaffee.

Sampled at Kerstbierfestival Essen 2014. Very dark brown color, medium sized light brown head. Weird aroma that reminds me of cabbage somehow, although it subsides a little after a while. Taste malts, roasted malts, sweetness, cough syrup. Decent body and carbonation.

330 ml. bottle sampled @ O.B.E.R. Kestbierfestival 2014. (Thx!) Black, thick mocha head. Nose is very sweet, very thick anise, lots of syrup, very BE. Taste is bitter upfront, very syrupy, lots of sweetness, anise, thick malts,… Body is very syrup-like. Not exactly what I was hoping for or what I prefer but not bad all the same.
