Small cream-coloured head over very deep dark brown beer. Coffee, mocha, sweet coffeesweets, sweet roast. Bit salty in the nose! Sweet coffee, but with a drier, bit woody finish. Liquorice, and retronasal, it regains this salty touch. More than medium bodied, very slick. Well carbonated. Not bad, but all the same middle-of-the-road stout.

Bottle at home, 23/05/20. Light black with a decent lasting tan covering. Nose is dried fruits, toffee, faint liquorice stick, pouch tobacco, raisins. Taste comprises fruit cake, brown sugar melt, roast malts, chocolate dipped raisins, toffee, sultanas, leather. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light kiss of alcohol. Decent enough well balanced stout.
