Bottle at Chriso going Dutch tasting, 03/07/14. Murky orange amber with a moderate off white swirl and edgeing. Nose is light spice, tangy citric rinds, straw, floral notes, herbal, tangy orange. Taste comprises dark fruit rind, musty tones, herbal rinse, caramel, lemon rind, bitter orange, straw. Medium + body, moderate carbonation, light booze becoming a little cloying, Mediocre saison.

Bottle @ RBBSG, 2014. Thanks 77ships! Hazy orange colour, almost no foam. Soft carbonation. Aroma of citrus with horse blanket and dishwater. Very weird and unbalanced beer.

Bouteille 75cl @ RBBSG III, courtesy of 77ships.

750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG III. Personal contribution. Thx for picking up tderoeck! Murky golden appearance. Thick chalky yeast nose, murky, light spice, moss / wet forest unintentional funk. Taste is just a thick slab of murky yeast, chalk, touch spice, nasty thick old plaster & nothing else, faint spice. Just an old thick chunk of stale yeast, no good at all, man was this ever a huge disappointment. Total waste of money, awful, I expect way more from something with the Jester King named attached to it.

Craig on Heat Tasting at ChrisO’s. Cloudy dark gold beer, residual white head. Airy palate, dry, fine carbonation. Weird nose - did someone say truffles? Taste follows the nose and adds floral sweet candy. Little sherbet before a light dry finish. Weird.

5/VII/14 - 75cl bottle @ RBBSG III (Gent) - BB: n/a (2014-723) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!

Bit cloudy orange to beige beer, small irregular white head, unstable, dissipates immediately. Aroma: spicy, dusty, dry, fruity, some peaches, bit of chlorine, floral. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit soapy, yeast, floral, spicy touch, weird bitterness, citric. Aftertaste: spicy, very yeasty, unpleasant bitterness, orange peel, weird touch, not bad.

Sampled @ RBBSG III. Hazy orange color, small white head. Smells Meh, horse blanket, cellar. Taste is a bit messy imo: an unbalanced mix of fruitiness, dishwasher water, floral, yeast. Hmm ok.

Small, irregular pinkish head over finely carbonated, fully hazy orange-kaki beer. Spicy nose, citrus and vegetables, yeasty esters. Sourish-bitterish, spiced malt cookies. Wild yeasts, obviously (intentional or not), wild peaches too, I’d hazard. Balance is surprisingly good - certainly for Fantôme. Very faintly burning MF. Medium bodied, very slick, well-carbonated; flavours fading away slowly. One of Dany’s better ones. The American influence, or a right hit?
