The Cliffs of Yesnaby, one of Orkney's many landmarks, are just a few miles south of our brewery and the coastal walks are memorable, much like this beer.
Cliff Edge is a brilliant bronze beer with a tantalising trio of American hops. Pushing you to the edge of your senses, with an intense impact of piney and spicy fruit flavours before dropping to a crash of bitter zestiness.
Hops: Simcoe, Cascade, Eukanot
Malts: Pale, Crystal, Malted Wheat

One of my longest kept beers in my actual cellar, with a sell-by date of 2020, so the £2.25 I bought it for at a local off-licence must have been a year or so earlier. Nothing wrong with it once I removed the bottle top. Feels stronger than it is through deeper malty notes. A good pale ale hoppiness gets a look in too, especially in aroma.

Hand-pulled half-pint in my local Spoon's on 6th November 2024. Golden amber body, white crown that lasted. Citrus lead in the nose and taste, good bitterness and a crisp herbal bite in the finish.

Cask at the Cornfield Exchange JDW, Eastbourne. Poured a clear light amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is toffee malt, light citrus. The flavour is over moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, light toffee, citrus, big woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

500ml bottle as part of a delivery from Beers of Europe and drunk at home. Light to mid-gold, clear, with a short-lived off-white head. Orange peel, malt loaf, light notes of tropical fruit in the aroma. Bitter taste, more orange and some kumquat peel. Slightly sweeter on the finish with malt notes. Bitter hop oils in the aftertaste. Decent body with medium carbonation.

On cask @ the Guildford Arms. Appearance - deep golden and clear. White head. Nose - caramel, biscuit and honeycomb. Taste - there's a general Crunchie Bar thing going on. Some green apple lurking. Palate - light to medium bodied, dry finish. Overall - decent and traditional.

Bottle. Almost clear amber with a white cap. Aroma of briefly boiled orange peel, light bread. 7+ A bit of body, lowish carbonation. Lean bready malt with lots of tenor register citrus and a little zesty edge. Strong bitterness that doesn't overstay its welcome. Interesting how different the US hops are in these hands. Solid stuff.
