The latest installment in our long-running “Hello My Name is…” series. Brewed in collaboration with Jeppe from Evil Twin Brewing, this beer has been fittingly named after Jeppe’s mum … because she’s a Danish woman and that’s kind of how this series works. Single hopped with Mosaic and loaded with well over 100kg of blueberries, this big fruity hop bomb is everything you want in a woman. Or a man. Come say ‘Hi’ to Sonja!

Bottle. Bottle. Dark orange colour, aroma is bit stinky hop, lots of malt, booze, bit of fruit. Taste is nice, bit of fruit again, probably couldn't pick it as blueberry, caramel malty, some sweetness, cakey. Maybe it's lost a bit of its fruitiness, but it's nice enough.

Bottle at Pibar, Lausanne
Amber color, bright, medium sized head. The aroma has a strong animal component, hoppy, a bit grassy and fruity. Lean mouthfeel; this malt flavor with the strong earthy/manure character is a bit cloying; not too sweet; quite strong bitterness, fitting in the picture, with a touch of dark berries in the final, and very light acidity.
Good beer, but this mix of flavors tends to be chaotic.

Tap at Taps in KL. Translucent copper pour with minimal head. Aroma is fruity hops but not very strong. Taste starts with crispy bitterness then fruity - not just blueberry - flavor. The blueberry is present but if I didn't know I'd probably just think it generally fruity, but that's not a bad thing. Very smooth palate. Bitter dry finish. Solid DIPA and happy to get to try a collaboration between two brewers I like so much, but not as special/odd as I thought it would be. Very drinkable - would get again.

Hazy amber color, tons of perfumy nose blueberries in the nose. Big malty backbone with big blueberry notes. This is the biggest bad ass blueberry beer I’ve ever had. Very nice but doesn’t blow me away.
